Compressive effect of a textile

Compression textiles for sport and leisure use are characterised by exerting a defined pressure profile on particular parts of the body. This may have a gradually decreasing or increasing effect, or remain constant over a specified part of the body. The way the manufacturer defines the pressure profile depends on the desired effect of the compression stocking.
