Oeko-Tex® Standard
The Hohenstein Institute were among the founder organisations of the "International Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile Ecology (Oeko-Tex®)" and they carry out testing under Oeko-Tex® Standard 100. This sets comprehensive criteria and strict limit values for testing textiles for harmful substances. Only articles meeting the strict criteria for all their components, not only the textile ones, are allowed to be awarded the prestigious "Confidence in Textiles" label. In some cases the standards to be met go far beyond legal requirements and therefore offer the consumer the greatest possible peace of mind. Together with its partner organisations, Hohenstein has also developed the Oeko-Tex® Standard 1000. Thanks to this, the environmental compatibility of textile production along the whole manufacturing chain can be examined and optimised. If a company is certified in accordance with the Oeko-Tex® Standard 1000 and its products are already certified in accordance with the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100plus can, under certain conditions, be awarded for these products.
